Mr. Md. Yousuf Mian joined as Director General (Current Charge) of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) on 30 August 2009. Mr. Yousuf Mian got first class in his B.Sc.Ag (Hons) degree in 1973 from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh. He obtained his M S degree with distinction from the University of Philippines at Los Banos (UPLB), Phillipines in 1982. Mr. Yousuf Mian joined BARI as a Scientific Officer in 1976. Later he served the Institute in different capacities and positions. He was Director Research (CC) and Director (T&C) of BARI before joining as Director General. He participated in many international seminars, conference and workshops in different countries. He  is associated with many scientific and professional societies at home  and abroad. Mr. Yousuf Mian was born in a respectable muslim family in the village Khidirkandi of Sadar  Upazila of Narshingdi district. He is the son of  Mr. Md. Sona Mian.
